The Sephora VIB Sale – What I Picked Up

Hello again!! Welcome back to my blog where I share my thoughts on everything makeup. If you’re new, I try to post twice a week. If you missed my last post, I reviewed the new Gigi x Maybelline collection and you can read it here. On today’s blog post I will be sharing with you what I picked up during the Sephora VIB sale.

If you don’t live in the U.S. (and some limited few countries where Sephora is also available), Sephora is the Disney World of makeup and they very rarely have sales. Recently they’ve been doing weekly wows, but that’s only for a few products at a time. They have two sales during the year, one around March-April I think for 15% off and one in the Fall for 20% off, and people go CRAZY. This year, I decided to only get two things I was dying to try out.

Tarte Cosmetics Tartelette Toasted Palette

The first product I picked up was the beautiful Tarte Cosmetics Tartelette Toasted eyeshadow palette. I had been dying to get this palette ever since it was announced. I waited until it was available at Sephora and then found out about the sale so I waited. It is now available at Sephora and Ulta if you want to check it out! This palette is full of warm shades, seven mattes and five shimmers, all ready to create beautiful looks in your eyes. I’m not sure if this is all Tarte palettes, but the two I own smell like chocolate and it’s delicious.

I’ve already used the palette and I am in love. It is definitely my new favorite palette and it is so easy to use. I am no pro at makeup, even though I extremely enjoy it, so I appreciate makeup that’s easy to use. These eyeshadows are blendable, pigmented, and although there is a little bit of kick up in the palette, if you go in with a gentle hand, it will all be fine. It is very similar to the Naked Heat palette, but if you watched KathleenLights comparison, the Toasted palette is a lot more wearable if you’re interested in every-day looks.

Touch in Sol No Poreblem Primer

The second product I picked up during the VIB sale was the Touch In Sol No Poreblem Primer. I haven’t had a lot of luck in pore-filling primers. They’re usually silicone-based and they just make my skin feel and look funky. This primer, even though it has silicone, it feels a little bit hydrating when I first put it on my skin. I don’t use it all over, but I focus it on my nose/cheeks area where my pores are more noticeable. I then go in with my Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer all over my face. The key is to really allow time in between primers and even in between your moisturizer and your primer.

So far I’ve been loving these two products, and I am happy I didn’t get anything just because it was cheaper. These were really the only two things I had been considering getting, and so far, they’ve treated me well! Don’t forget that returning items to Sephora is really simple, so if there’s ever anything that just didn’t work for you, return it!

Did you pick up anything during the Sephora VIB sale?
