The Battle of the Foundations

Helloo if you missed my last post, you can read it here.

In this round of The Battle of… I will be talking about foundations. Honestly, I’ve never been a fan of foundation. I’ve been fortunate enough to not have any extreme skin conditions that I would like to cover, and I’ve always hated the feeling of too much product on my face. In the last couple of months, as I’ve been getting more and more into makeup, I decided to give foundation a go again. I walked into Sephora and explained to the sales assistant what I wanted/need – very light coverage, just something to even out my skin and create a canvas for the rest of my makeup. She suggested IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream.

That’s the first product in this review of the foundations I currently own. I have been loving this for the few months ever since she recommended it to me. It provides just the coverage I need, it is buildable if I ever need it, it blends seamlessly into my skin and it lasts. They have a variation of this and it’s called IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Illumination Cream. In KathleenLight’s foundation collection video, she says that she notices no difference between these two foundations. If you’re like me and you’re just dipping your toes into foundation, I think this would be a great place to start!

Second on the list, MAC Next To Nothing Face Colour. This came out a couple of months ago, and as you can see, they didn’t call it a foundation, they called it a face colour because it is not a full coverage foundation. They describe it on the website as a “moisturizing tinted cream that brings out skin’s luminosity for sheer, balmy perfection.” So basically a fancy bb cream. The packaging of MAC is great and I love it, and much like the IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream, it provides just enough coverage. The reason why I still prefer the CC+ Cream over this one is that the MAC foundation has a more dewy finish and I know lots of people are big fans of this, to me, it looks like I’ve been sweating.

Foundation number three is, Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation. Not gonna lie, like many other things I’ve bought, this was Zoella’s fault. She saved about this and the Lasting Finish foundation (the one with the red cap). And although she preferred the second one, I was only able to get the blue one when I went to the store. This is definitely more high coverage than the other two, as it is a real foundation and not a CC+ Cream. The first couple of times I tried it, I think I was just applying a little bit too much and I hated it. I also think I need to try a lighter shade. That’s one of the things I hate about drugstore makeup, there’s usually no people helping you out and you’re not really supposed to be testing them. I like it. I am not obsessed with it, but I think it’s a good foundation. If you’ve tried the Lasting Finish before, let me know! I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Aaaaand last and least, L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Glow. I can’t remember what compelled me to try this one out. There’s usually a reason, but I think there was another one of the Infallible collection someone raved about somewhere but I wasn’t able to get that one so decided to give this a go. Not impressed. It’s runny and I just hate how it feels on my skin. Do you have any L’Oreal favorites.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this round of Battle of… And please if you’re like and you DON’T LIKE FOUNDATION…. Please let me know what you use!
