Skincare Beauty Questions

How many times do you wash your face daily?

Unless I use a heavy skincare routine the night before, or some type of overnight mask, I don’t cleanse my face in the morning. At night, regardless of if I wear makeup that day or not, I double cleanse. Firstly, I use a cleansing balm followed by a liquid cleanser like the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser.

What skin type do you have?

Dry. As a result, I prefer a more moisturizing skincare routine.

What is your current facial wash?

As I said before, the Fresh cleanser is a favorite.

Do you exfoliate?

Yes, but not mechanical exfoliation. I like using exfoliating toners. For example, the INKEY List Lactic Acid has been a go-to. Works great on dry skin.

What brand do you use?

The INKEY List, Pixi Beauty, Good Molecules, and Krave Beauty.

What moisturizer do you use?

It depends on how my skin is feeling and whether it is the morning or the evening. My morning moisturizer right now is the I Dew Care Vitamin C moisturizer. It is a blend of gel and cream and feels amazing. On the other hand, I like something heavier at night. My go-to has been the Ultra Repair Cream from First Aid Beauty.

Do you have freckles?

Nope.

Do you use eye cream?

Sometimes. I have a deluxe sample of the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Eye Cream. I use it before I apply my makeup alongside my moisturizer.

Do you or did you have acne prone skin?

Fortunately, I was very lucky and did not get acne during my teenage years. I can get a spot or two around my period, but not always.

Did you ever have to use Pro-Activ?

Nope.

Makeup Questions

What foundation do you use?

Recently, I have been skipping foundation. When I do end up using foundation, I prefer something light. For example: the IT Cosmetics CC Cream, the Thrive Causemetics Buildable Blur CC Cream, and he Milk Makeup Skin Tint.

How about concealer?

Glossier Stretch Concealer.

Do you know your undertone color?

Not really. I’ve been told I’m neutral.

What do you think of fake eyelashes?

I think if done right they can look absolutely lovely.

Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months?

Yes, yes, and yes. I sometimes do switch it up, and I have some mascaras that dry out quickly so they don’t even make the three month mark.

What brand mascara do you use?

I love mascara so I have a couple of favorites. The Maybelline mascaras are amazing. I love the Lash Sensational and Big Colossal mascaras. Another new favorite is the Essence Volume Stylist mascara.

Sephora or MAC?

Sephora.

Do you have a MAC pro-card?

Nope, and I have no idea what that is.

What makeup tools do you use in makeup application?

My go-to is the original beautyblender. I think it really does give a flawless look. For powder products I use RealTechniques brushes or EcoTools brushes.

Do you use makeup base/primer for the eyes?

No. I tried the Urban Decay Eye Primer Potion, but it just didn’t work for me. I usually just put some concealer.

For the face?

Yes, I love the Smashbox Primerizer. I’ve gone through a couple of bottles already.

What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)?

Any bronzer/copper color.

Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?

Depends on what it’s for. I use pencil eyeliner for my waterline and to tightline. When it comes to liquid eyeliner and winged eyeliner, I’m not the best, but I try.

How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?

Not too often. I actually stab my eyes with the mascara wand a lot more than I do with the pencil.

What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?

I’ve actually never tried any.

Do you use mineral makeup?

I wish I knew more about this, but not really.

What is your favorite lipstick?

So many! I recently shared my favorite nude lipsticks and these really are my go-to year long.

How about lipgloss?

Gloss has been one of my favorite makeup products recently. There are so many that I love. The Colourpop So Juicy range are a great affordable option.

What is your favorite blush to use?

Nudestix in Sunkissed.

Do you buy your makeup on ebay?

No.

Do you like drugstore makeup?

I do! I wish there was more freedom to test products, be able to swatch them, and find the right shade.

Do you go to CCO’s? (Cosmetic Company Outlets)

Nope.

Did you ever consider taking makeup classes?

Totally! I went to a couple of Sephora in-store classes and really enjoyed them. Since moving to Oregon, the only Sephora in my city is Sephora inside JC Penny, and they don’t offer the same services.

Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?

Sometimes, but I try not to be. If I know I don’t have much time, I stick to the basics and not try anything too crazy.

Name a makeup crime that you hate?

Thick foundation. I just don’t think it’s necessary.

Do you like colorful shades of makeup?

Yes! Especially a nice, bold lipstick. For the eyes, I usually stick to more warm tones.

Which celebrity always has great makeup?

Selena Gomez or Mila Kunis. Love their looks!

If you could leave the house using just ONE makeup item, what would you use?

I hate this question! I think I’d have to say mascara.

Could you ever leave the house without makeup on?

Yes. It really depends on where I am going, and I try to do it more often to let my skin rest.

Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?

Sometimes. I think we all struggle with self-love, but it’s important that we appreciate who we are and how we look regardless of what we’re wearing. Most importantly, being confident on who we are as people should be our primary goal and concern.

In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?

Depends on the makeup category. I have been using a lot of Thrive Causemetics and Nudestix lately.

What do you think of makeup?

There’s nothing more relaxing for me than sitting on my bedroom floor and doing my makeup while I watch some YouTube. I think it’s important we love ourselves no matter how we look, so I do my best in not relying 100% on makeup. But, makeup makes me happy, and I love doing it, wearing it, and writing about it.

I hope you’ve enjoyed the 40 Beauty Questions TAG. I really loved thinking about these and sharing them with you. Don’t forget to let me know if you complete the 40 Beauty Questions Tag.
