Sephora VIB Sale Spring 2017

This is my first time experiencing the Sephora VIB Sale and it was great and damaging. The Beauty world is hard and complex. The ideal would be to be able to purchase everything in the one place and get all the rewards, but the corporations don’t want you to be able to do that. So if you have to go Ulta, Sephora, and the individual brands’ websites to get all the goodies. It is very rarely that Sephora puts products on sale that are not from their own collection, meaning that this sale and the one during Fall must be huge selling seasons for them as any beauty lover knows, we only need a slight discount to justify all of our crazy purchases.

I did get a couple of bits, but I didn’t splurge on crazy expensive products, just products that I have been wanting for a while but didn’t want to commit and spend money on them. I also used it as an opportunity to try new things like fake eyelashes.

I think so far my absolute favorite product that I got on the sale was the Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Nude Lip (the exact one is not showing up on the website anymore). It retails for $28 and comes with five lipsticks and one lipliner. Four of the lipsticks are mini versions and then there’s one full sized product which in this case was the Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in 1993 Comfort Matte. I am a sucker for mini versions of products, and mini lipsticks are so cute. Also, most of my lipstick collection is made up of Colourpop products mainly because of how affordable they are, and this gives me a chance to try out multiple higher-end brands and formulas without committing to purchasing the full-sized product.

The other samples are, Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Matte Long Wear Lipstick in Queen B (officially the longest name in existence), Marc Jacobs BeautyLe Marc Lip Creme in 246 Slow Burn, Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Honeycomb, Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in White Russian, and Estee Edit The Barest Contour Lip Liner in 05 In The Buff.

If you’re looking to try new lipsticks, I would highly recommend giving this a go!

In this haul, I also picked up Farsali’s Rose Gold Elixir. This became a beauty favorite really quick and I’ve been wanting to try it for a really long time. If you haven’t heard about this before, it’s “a fast-absorbing, dry oil that can be used as an effective daily moisturizer, or in conjunction with your makeup routine.” Others also use it in their makeup, on their beauty blenders to blend out makeup, and MUAs have found endless uses for it!

The third product is Hourglass Ambient Lightning Powder in Luminous Light. This was previously mentioned in my March Makeup Wishlist and I finally get to try it!! I swatched it before at the store and it’s such a light powder, so soft, and it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin at all. I tried it out today as a no makeup-makeup look and I am loving it so far. Another powder product is the NARS Blush in Orgasm. Again, another favorite and raved about product by the Beauty community, and I had never tried it before. First, let me say the NARS packaging is amazing. Even though it’s a small product, the packaging is sturdy and just so nice.

Those were the ones I was most excited about. I also got a replacement for my absolute favorite mascara, Too Faced Better Than Sex, I compared it to others in my Battle of the Mascaras post. As I continue to write these I really want to try new things, both products, and makeup trends, which is why I picked up some eyelashes to give them a go. I’ve only worn fake eyelashes once before for a school fashion show and someone put them on for me. I went to Sephora on the last day of the sale and asked a Sales Associate to help me out and recommend natural looking lashes, glue, and anything else that might make my life easier. If you have any tips or advice for this fake eyelash virgin I would appreciate a comment below.

Did you get anything during the Sephora VIB Sale?? Let me know, I’m dying t know the products people bought during the sale. Don’t forget to like and let me know your thoughts in the comments!
