Rimmel London Stay Matte Foundation Not-So-Good Review

In order to keep finding things to write about for this blog, I need to purchase products and try them out. In a recent trip to the store, I decided to buy the Rimmel London Stay Matte Foundation. The ad kept popping up on YouTube – and I watch a lot of YouTube – and since I’m any company’s dream consumer, I let the ad convince me I needed to try this. The packaging was cute and I like other Rimmel products so what could be the problem?

The fact that most of the beauty YouTube videos I’ve watched say anything “matte” is not good for dry skin, should’ve been enough for me not to give this a go. But I did. And I hated it. You will be able to see in the picture above that the product claims to be “lightweight” and I want you to know the packaging is lying to you. Just as it lied to me. It is anything but lightweight. I haven’t tried a lot of foundations, but I can say that this is the least lightweight thing I’ve tried. It was heavy, and creamy, and not lightweight is what I’m trying to say.

It was so thick I didn’t even want to put it on my beauty blender – I just felt it was going to go well and it was going to be hard to blend in. It was. I ended up using my fingers and it just wasn’t a pleasant experience. I like the concept and I like the idea, but I just think it was too much. And maybe this review is completely pointless because this is the whole point of a matte foundation and I’m sure a lot of people would love this product. Just not me. Definitely not me.

Have there been any products you were really excited about and just completely let you down? Please let me know! I love this type of stories. Am I wrong and is this the whole point of a matte foundation?

Don’t forget to like this post and leave a comment below! I’d love to know more about whoever is actually reading this and making it all the way till the end.
