Welcome to my first month of PLAY! by Sephora – because I needed more tiny-sized products. Unlike my Birchbox subscription, when I signed up for this service, I honestly believed there was a bigger chance of my trying out these products and actually purchasing them. And I was right. This subscription comes with a spread that lists the products and provides basic information and how-tos. There is also the benefit of the PLAY! PASS – a card you can take to Sephora with you and get 50 additional Beauty Insider points and you can also get a one-on-one tutorial for advice. To me, this sounds like a pretty good deal, especially because you were already planning on going to Sephora even before you got the box so might as well get those extra 50 points and a quick tutorial on how to spend more money on products you probably don’t need.
The product in this month’s box… bag.. is it a bag? Let’s go with bag, are:
The packaging is pink and it smells like Vanilla… Do I really need to say anything else? I am really excited to try this as I am curious as to how this will work with my makeup. Sometimes makeup and some moisturizers and primers just don’t work so I want to see how this all looks put together. Wendy from WithWends.com told me that GLAMGLOW products don’t contain very good ingredients – if anyone has any additional information on this, please share! This is going on my face and even though I am still going to try it, I’d like to know if I should stop the use after the one time. Thanks!
Let me just say the packaging is adorable for a tiny little product – I appreciate a company that puts a lot of thought even into their travel size products. Not sure what cream-to-powder means. To me is just feels like cream. From past experience with other cream highlighters, I’ve learned the best way to apply is to use clean fingers and then maybe a brush to blend it in. I love the shade and I’m excited to try it!
For this one, they really just scooped up however amount you would need to try it one time and put that in a pot. According to the description, it can either be “the first or last step in your makeup routine.” Okay, so no idea how this will go when I try it out, but I’ll let you know. Up to this point, my finishing makeup steps have been mists, sprays or powders, but a balm? We’ll see.
I love these little shadows. I think they’re the perfect thing to stick in your bag or apply if you’re in a rush and you don’t want to spend too much time on this. The shade is really nice and it feels really smooth and creamy. To be honest, I don’t see the pink, only the golden but oh well, it still a nice shade and I think it can be used for a very natural eye look.
Okay, this I have tried and this I love. I tried it last night and not sure what it did but it made me love my hair. It made me love my hair at 7 p.m. when I just wanted to put it up in a bun. I liked the smell of it, but I think it wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea. It does smell very “I just walked out of the hair salon and have all this product in my hair,” type of smell. I was actually surprised at the size of this sample, it is pretty decent and a lot bigger than other spray travel hair samples I’ve gotten.
Have you tried any of these products? Don’t forget to like this post and leave a comment below!
