Helloooooo April! I may have reasons to be particularly excited about April… my 23rd birthday being one of them. Although getting older doesn’t excite me, I still love the celebration of ME and it’s one more excuse to give myself gifts – from ME to Me. With the beginning of a new month comes the end of a month, which means the mandatory monthly favorites post. If you missed last month’s you can check it out here. For this month, I tried to include products that weren’t only makeup, but also skincare and beauty tools. Hopefully, there’ll be something that spikes your interest and you give it a go!
You have probably heard of this already as a LOT of people have been obsessing over this product. It is a cleanser, but it has two sides, one is a solid cleansing oil and the second one is a cleansing cream. The first step is to cleanse your face using the oil and then wipe it off using a moist cloth/towel, and then you use the cleansing cream to double cleanse and wipe it off the same way. The cleansing oil, since it is the fist step, has to be my favorite. You can really feel it breaking down your makeup and dirt you’ve accumulated throughout the day. The cleansing cream is perfect to finish up and remove anything else that might be in your face, leaving it fresh, clean, and ready for a good night’s sleep. Highly recommend it!
I LOVEthe combination of these two products. I am not a big fan of gloss, and I would definitely not wear it to work (9am to 6pm), but for an afternoon out, not a windy one, a quick walk in the neighborhood or an afternoon with friends having some drinks. White Russian works so well with other lipsticks and I loved this particular combination. Have you tried using lip gloss and a matte lipstick before?
This. Smells. SO. GOOOOOOOD! I like to give my skin a little bit of attention every once again. I don’t have big skin issues or concerns, so I don’t use a lot of skincare products, or masks that are strong and heavy, or that contain ingredients that are meant for more than just giving your skin a breather. You’re only supposed to leave this mask on between 10 to 15 minutes, which I think is my patience limit, any more than that I probably would just wash it off before the timer goes off. Every time I use it, my skin feels so nice and clean, and it’s just like a quick pick me up. The best thing is how good it smells. There is some heating/tingling you might experience, but it’s nothing major.
Not going to go to much into this as I did a post reviewing it not too long ago, you can check it out here. But it’s made my life a lot easier and I thought it deserved to be mentioned in this month’s favorites!
5. Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner Matte Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner (that’s a mouthful)
I recently got a sample of this in a Sephora order as one of my free three samples and I am REALLY impressed. I mainly use eyeliner on my waterline and to tight line and it’s so hard to find one that glides on easily, pigmented, and that I don’t have to trace it multiple times to get the color to show. I didn’t want to like it because it is $25 and I think that’s a bit much for an eyeliner, but it’s SO good. On the Sephora site, I didn’t see a black shade… It seems they only have black in a satin shade, but I think I’ll have to try it out. If you have any good drugstore recommendations I would really appreciate it!
During the last Sephora class I attended, I learned that color correcting didn’t have to end with my face looking like a clown and all sorts of shades and colors and lines on my face. While on the class, I tried this concealer to color correct the dark circles under my eyes, and then I was told I would use my regular concealer on top of it. MAGIC. I’ve been doing this every day, applying it right in my dark circles, and the applying my concealer on top of it. The second concealer does more lightening and highlighting, while the first one just focuses on the dark circles and hiding them.
7. Tarte Make Believe in Yourself: Magic Wands Brush Set – Blending + Shading brush
I’ll be honest and say I ordered these because they were pretty and there was a pink brush – I know, I am every marketing person’s dream audience- but I’ve actually been loving the eyeshadow brushes. The other brushes are alright, nothing great, I actually think they’re a bit too soft and this is usually not the best in face brushes, but the eyeshadow brushes I love. The blending brush really does work and blends my eyeshadow so well, helping me get rid of any lines. Plus, they’re gold.
Aaaaaand that’s it for this month! Have you tried any of these? Let me know in the comments below some of your March favorites! And don’t forget to like this post if you enjoyed it.
P.S – if you haven’t been watching Big Little Lies in HBO…. you HAVE to!
