How I Prepare for Long Flights – Beauty Edition

Hii again! And welcome to a new week, a new post, and a day closer to Christmas (yes, I’m that person). If you missed last week’s post, make sure to check it out here. On today’s post, I will be talking about my travel essentials. I called it beauty edition, but it’s kind of beauty, kind of comfort, and just things I need to make my long flights a lot more comfortable. In order for me to fly home (Colombia), I will be taking a total of five flights and over 24 hours of traveling, soooooo I do my best to make my flights as enjoyable as possible. If there’s anything you think there’s missing, please share it with me in the comments below! Believe me, it would be greatly appreciated.

1. Yes To Cucumbers Hypoallergenic Facial Wipes

Last time I flew home, I brought with me a travel size version of the Garner Micellar Cleansing Water, but that meant I also had to travel with cotton pads and it was just a bit too much. I came across a travel version of these Yes To Cucumbers Hypoallergenic Facial Wipes (10 wipes) last time I was at Target so I decided to pick them up. Usually, I will start my travel day with makeup on, but on a night flight, I like to take it off. I haven’t tried these, so I think I will be testing one out before I leave just to make sure they work and don’t irritate my skin or anything like that. If you have any recommendations, let me know! I wish there was a travel version of the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Wipes.

UPDATE: I used these right after finishing this post, and they irritated my skin so badly! At first, while I was using it it felt fine, but a few minutes later I started feeling thing burning sensation. They are supposed to be hypoallergenic so I don’t understand. I read reviews on Ulta’s website and there are a lot of negative reviews that say the same thing, so steer away from these!

2. Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb The Super Hydrating Sheet Mask

I’ve seen a lot of people do this recently and using hydrating sheet mass during long flights so I decided to give it ago. I am someone who naturally has dry skin, so flying really takes a toll on my skin – especially face and hands. If you didn’t know, flying dehydrates you because the AC on airplanes is super dry, and it just sucks all the moisture out of you so I’m really looking forward to trying these out. I do fear looking like an idiot, but who cares!

3. EOS Intensive Hand Lotion – Vanilla Orchid

I’m sure you’ve seen the EOS hand lotions at your local store, but I think this version of it is new as I had never seen the “intensive” on the other ones. I’ve tried this out, and I can definitely feel a difference between this one and the normal ones. As I said before, my hands get super dry when I travel so I always have a hand lotion with me.

4. MoroccanOil Treatment Original

On my last Sephora Play! Box there was a deluxe sample of this oil so I’m bringing it with me! I love hair oils – I’m working on favorites oil posts – and I think they just make the hair look more alive. I’m bringing this with me to use during my flights, but also once I get to Colombia as I don’t want to bring another one with me. Have you tried it before?

5. Real Techniques Mini Medium Expert Face Brush

Isn’t this the cutest thing you’ve ever seen? I stumbled upon this on my last trip to Target and fell in love. I think there are two other versions, but I decided to stick with one. Traveling with makeup is easy, except when you start thinking about everything else you need to bring with you to apply that makeup. I will be bringing real brushes with me, but those will be in my suitcase while I’m keeping this one in my backpack. The brush looks perfect for anything powder and I apply foundation and concealer with my hands/fingers so it is all I need.

6. Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk

Who doesn’t travel with some dry shampoo? I tried this Klorane one a while back and didn’t love it, but I recently picked it up again and it’s been really good! I am not sure how much is left so I might bring a back up in my suitcase just to make sure I have enough for the flights back.

7. Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray

I won’t be carrying this one on my carryon, but I will be bringing it with me. I have a wedding when I get home, and I do plan on bringing my curling iron, and a texture spray is just something that adds a little something and makes my hair look more alive.

8. Tarte 4-in-1 Setting Mist – Rainforest of The Sea

I also received this one on a Sephora Play! Box and I haven’t used it yet but thought it’d be the perfect thing to bring with me. It is also the perfect size for me to stick in a purse and bring with me to the wedding.

So, these are all the bits I’ll be having in my backpack with me! I will also be bringing some makeup so let me know if you’d like a post about the makeup I’ll be bringing with me to Colombia (I’ll probably write a post about it anyways…).

Thank you so much for your continued support! I really appreciate it!
