If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you’ll know lipstick is probably my favorite makeup product. I’ve had a matte phase, satin phase, and we’re currently in the glossy lip phase. The Thrive Causemetics Glossy Lip Hydrating Serum lipsticks are some of my current favorites. These were kindly gifted to me, but I definitely plan on repurchasing my favorite shades when I use them up. In this post, I will go over the formula and the shades currently available.
Glossy Lip Hydrating Serum Formula
The Thrive Causemetics Glossy Lip Hydrating Serums are the perfect blend between a liquid lipstick and lip gloss. Its top ingredients are: Youth B5 Complex, Hyaluronic Acid, and Vitamin E. This makes it an extremely comfortable, non-drying formula. While they are glossy, they are not super sticky, just the right amount. I think it is impossible for there to be a gloss that isn’t a little bit sticky.
The liquid lipstick side of the Glossy Hydrating Serum offers just the right amount of pigment. My favorite part is how it wears throughout the day. By the end of the day, you’ll be left with a slight tint to the lips. It doesn’t turn into a dry mess, but rather, leaves your lips looking super natural.
The Glossy Shades
At the moment, the Hydrating Serum is available in 8 shades. Of the 8 shades, I own 6. The only two shades I do not currently own are Jean (Baby Pink Shimmer) and Misty (Coral). These two shades were also gifted to me, but I knew they weren’t going to look good on me so I gifted them. Overall, I think there’s a good selection of shades. A few nudes (JoAnn, Ruth, and Pamela), reds (Karlie and Maya), a berry shade (Narima), and the two brighter shades previously mentioned.
If you didn’t notice, the names of the shades are all of strong, empowering women. I think that’s amazing and supports the overall mission of Thrive Causemetics. My personal favorites are the six shades I kept, but there are definitely a couple I reach out for more. Pamela and JoAnn are the perfect nudes. First, Pamela is the perfect Brown Mauve shade and I think it would look flattering on anyone. It’s perfect when I want to wear lipstick but don’t want anything too bold. Likewise, JoAnn is a Plum Mauve with a little bit more of a berry tint to it.
Do You Need Them?
While I love these lip glosses, they’re definitely not for everyone. For example, if you never wear lipstick, they’re not for you. They’re definitely not for you if you have long hair and live somewhere windy. These are still glosses and it will get messy. On the other hand, if you have long days at work or school, and you want something natural that wears nicely throughout the day, these are perfect for you. I’ve been in both of those settings, and I loved how natural these looked. Most of all, I loved how nice they wore and left my lips tinted eight hours later.
Finally, if you’re looking for other Thrive Causemetics products, you might want to consider the Liquid Lash Extension Mascara or the Buildable Blur CC Cream. Both great additions to anyone’s makeup collection.
What’s your go-to lipstick right now?
