If you noticed that I stopped doing my A Week in Beauty posts… Thank you for noticing. If you didn’t, it’s okay. They’re not coming back. It was too much having to have content for a A Week in Beauty post every week, so now, I am giving you #AMonthInBeauty! I will be compiling some of the most exciting makeup releases, Instagram accounts, and blog posts each month. You can except it the last Saturday of the month. If you’re anything you’d like for me to include, feature your blog/Instagram, leave me a comment or shoot me an email!
A Month in Releases
Wet n Wild recently relaunched their Icon Eyeshadow collection. There are four eyeshadow 10-pan palettes: Nude Awakening, Rose in The Air, Comfort Zone, Not a Basic Peach; and there are six eyeshadow quads: Silent Treatment, Lights Out, Walking on Eggshells, Hooked on Vinyl, Petalette, Sweet As Candy. These look beautiful in pictures! I haven’t had the chance to try these out, but I’ve seen and read a couple of reviews. The matte shades seem to work very well, but the shimmers are not as pigmented or shimmery as you’d expect.
I think some drugstore brushes can be amazing. For example, RealTechniques has amazing brushes at an affordable price. Now, Wet n Wild has released their own line of pro brushes. They look beautiful. If you’ve been keeping up to date, you will know Kylie Cosmetics also released a line of brushes at a ridiculous price. These look very similar to the Kylie ones. I can’t speak in terms of quality, but design-wise, they look pretty much the same. I will be looking out for these and trying some out! If you’d like to see a review, let me know.
KathleenLights is one of my favorite YouTubers. I love her videos, I think she does really amazing tutorials, and just love how she stays away from all the drama. If you’re not familiar with her, I recommend you check out her channel. Kathleen has collaborated a couple of times with Colourpop, mainly just lipsticks, but her most recent collaboration includes the Dream St. eyeshadow palette. The collection also includes three lipsticks: Raver (Ultra Satin Lip – neon oranged red), Dreamy (Ultra Satin Lip – peachy pink), and Moon Child (Ultra Glossy Lip – pinky nude with gold glitter).

In this blog, I like to be inclusive… even if I can’t afford it. Natasha Denona makes some of the most beautiful products on the market, but also some of the most expensive. Her palettes go for over $100, and the new blush palette retails for $89. There are two versions of this palette, Darya and Citrus. Unfortunately, I don’t know enough to be able to say if they would suit all skin tones, but I think so (don’t quote me on that). The palettes include both cream and powder formulas, I believe you’re supposed to use both formulas together. This means you would apply the cream formula first, and then apply the powder over it.
A Month in Instagram
Who else is frustrated by Instagram??? Everyone? Good. If you don’t use Instagram, or don’t use Instagram with the intent to build a following, then you won’t know what a struggle it has been recently. With timelines no longer in chronological order, it is very hard to get people to see your post. I get posts on my timeline from three days ago! There are rumours that say that you need to get a lot of engagement (likes and comments) on the first few minutes for your post to be shown to all your followers. If you don’t get that initial engagement, then your post will get lost in the Instagram blackhole. I hope you check these accounts out! They post great content, they connect with their followers, and they provide any advice you might need.
A Month in Blogs
