Not too long ago, Physicians Formula released their new velvet liquid lipsticks. These were released alongside their new The Healthy Foundation and a couple of other products. Up to this point, I had only tried their Butter Bronzer and their Butter Blush. I had received their Butter Highlighter complementary from Influenster. The Healthy Lip Velvet Liquid Lipsticks, and a couple of other products, I received after winning an Instagram giveaway. It always feels like those are impossible to win, but it doesn’t take long to participate. Do it! You never know! I have been using these lipsticks for a couple of months now, and I feel like that’s a decent amount of time to have my thoughts on them. If you’re curious about how these look and perform, keep reading!
The Healthy Lip Velvet Liquid Lipsticks have a velvet formula (duh..), and it feels mousse-like. I find the formula to be less mousse-like than the Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor lipsticks. It feels extremely comfortable and light on the lips. The Healthy Lips are not drying, they’re also not matte which means they’re not 100% transfer proof. While they’re not matte, they are still super pigmented. The ingredients in the formula make it so that these are good for your lips. It includes Avocado Oil, Vitamins A & E, Hyaluronic Acid, Ant-Aging Peptides.
Right now, there are 13 shades available. I think there’s a good variety of shades and a little bit for everyone. In the giveaway package I got sent most of these, but not all of them. The shades I received are, Bare With Me, All-Natural Nude,Tu-Lip Treatment (I gifted this one), Dose of Rose, Magentle Formula, Red Storative Effects, Vitamin Beet, Raisin’ Immunity, and Noir-ishing Plum. As you can see, the names of the shades are puns. Some succeed more than others. The reason I gifted Tu-Lip Treatment is that it is an orange-red, and these shades don’t suit me at all. I knew I wasn’t going to use it.
The shades I do not own are, Berry Healthy, Coral Minerals, Nut-ritious and Fight Free Red-icals. I think there’s a good range of nudes, reds, and deeps. It is a small collection, but that seems to be the ways Physicians Formula does things. Maybe they’ll release additional shades in the future.
I really enjoy these lipsticks. The shades I love and have used the most are Bare With Me, All-Natural Nude, and Magentle Formula. I just find these to be the ones that suit me best. The only one I don’t like is Raisin’ Immunity. I think this is the only one that looks a bit patchy.
I have worn Noir-isihing Plum, the darkest shade, and it wore beautifully and wasn’t at all patchy. Not sure what it is about Raisin’ Immunity. I have included a couple of pictures of me wearing these so you can get an idea of how they look in real life.
In comparison to other drugstore liquid lipsticks, they are similar to the Pixi Beauty MatteLips that came out recently. Those are matte so they are a bit more drying and pigmented than the Healthy Lips.
Have you had the opportunity to try the Healthy Lip liquid lipsticks? There have been so many drugstore releases lately and I feel like they’ve really stepped up their game. What do you think? Don’t forget to subscribe if you haven’t already!
