Hello everyone! My June Birchbox came really early this month so I thought I’d share what I got with you! If you missed last month’s box, you can find it here. This will be my last Birchbox for a while as I will be flying to Colombia for a couple of months! Don’t worry, I’ll find plenty of stuff to write about while I am there.
This month, I think I chose one of the samples that came in my box. I chose the Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray. I have received this sample before but Oribe is such a great (and not exactly affordable brand), and the travel size will be perfect to bring with me to Colombia so I thought why not! The full-size product retails for $46 and it is part dry shampoo, part texturizer.
I also received Benefit Cosmetics Boi-ing Airbrush Concealer – this has sheer to medium coverage and it reminds me of NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer. They both come in little pots and the texture feels very similar. I do think the NARS one is a bit more creamer and just feels nicer against the skin. The difference in price is of $10 so I wouldn’t exactly call it a dupe, but definitely a more affordable version. In one of my last boxes, I got something like a bronze BB cream and I as a bit hesitant about it, but I tried it a few days ago and I was obsessed!
In one of my last boxes, I got something like a bronze BB cream and I as a bit hesitant about it, but I tried it a few days ago and I was obsessed! It definitely gave me a healthy look and I didn’t feel like I had to do anything extra. In this box, I received what I am guessing is something similar, COOLA Mineral Face SPF 30 Rosilliance – Golden. BB Creams are kind of a tinted moisturizer and a lot of them, especially these bronze version have SPF which I think it’s great. That way you don’t have to use many products over the summer and you just carry one of these.
One of the products I was excited about but my excitement was shattered when I opened the box, was the Manna Kadar Cosmetics Eye Candy Priming Shadow Stick in Honey. The shade is so pretty, but unfortunately, the stick arrived completely out of the packaging and somewhat squished against the lid. I was very disappointed. I contacted Birchbox and they were only able to offer me Birchbox points… which are kind of useless. I’ll still try to use it!
Honestly, I am glad I am taking a bit of a break from Birchbox as I have been quite disappointed with the products lately. I find them to be too repetitive and I really wish I got more makeup products (I know in this case the hair sample was selected by me, but there’s usually a hair sample included). What are your thoughts on Birchbox? I have seen Birchbox in other countries like the UK and even the packaging looks so much better. You can check Flair Chick’s May Birchbox post to see how gorgeous it is!
Don’t forget to check out my giveaway here! There’s still time to get the perfect father’s day gift! Only a couple of days left!
