If you’re unfamiliar with Influenster, it is a platform that allows Influencers to try out products for free in exchange for honest reviews of the products. When you first create your account, you complete surveys that look into your demographics and your interests which are later used to match you with brands. A VoxBox is one of those campaigns where people are sent products for testing purposes. Sometimes they are brand specific and sometimes they include a variety of brands and products.
In my case, my first VoxBox was part of the Biolage R.A.W. campaign and I received for free and for testing purposes, the Matrix Biolage R.A.W. Nourish Shampoo and Conditioner. Recover and Uplift where the other options people could receive. My first impression was that the packaging was really nice, they kind of looked like those healthy juices fitness people post on Instagram and they smelled amazing! The Nourish line is for dry, dull hair and the shampoo has quinoa husk and honey, and the conditioner has coconut oil and kaolin clay.
These are supposed to be super healthy/natural products with no silicones, no sulfates and no parabens. In the testing phase, I found it hard to love the shampoo. I am the kind of girl that likes a really foamy shampoo that’s easy to spread throughout the hair and this wasn’t the case here. It was hard to really make the most out of the product and I felt I had to use a bigger amount than what I usually do. The conditioner was amazing from the get-go. I immediately felt my hair be so much softer. I’ve been having some hair issues since I’ve dyed it a couple of times and it’s getting longer, it tangles really really easily and it’s a pain in the butt, but this shampoo really did the trick. My only con for the conditioner is the packaging. The consistency of the product is pretty thick, kind of like a cream, and getting it out of the bottle is really hard. I have to squeeze it for it to come out.
These retail for $25 each, so I don’t think I would repurchase, mainly because I see myself using a lot of it and going through it a lot faster than other shampoos, and $50/month is kinda a lot for shampoo and conditioner. The difference in my hair hasn’t been radical so I don’t think it would be worth it for me at this time, but it is definitely a great product and if you can splurge on shampoo and conditioner I highly recommend it!
Have you tried Influenster? If you’re interested in becoming an Influencer but don’t know where to start, I highly recommend you check out this platform. It’s not super easy to get selected for the boxes, but when you do, it’s pretty exciting.
Let me know in the comments below if you’ve tried Biolage before and what you think of their products! I’d love to know.
